Staff at Tiverton have raised over £2,000 as part of their ongoing fundraising initiative in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Wellington Monument Walk
The Specsavers Tiverton team were joined by members of staff from the Taunton store on a 9km walk around Wellington Monument. Both stores have pledged to raise money for Cancer Research throughout the year and Tiverton recently also supported the Specsavers Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge for Cancer Research.
Cause close to hearts
The team walked in memory of Sophie Simmons, who worked at the Tiverton store and sadly passed away last year at the age of 38 following a brave fight against cancer.
More to come
Emma Denham, store director, said: ‘We are thrilled to have already passed the £2,000 mark but we’re looking to stump up even more and welcome all contributions in aid of our regular challenges throughout 2016.’
Cancer Research UK is a research and awareness charity for cancer in the UK. It aims to reduce the number of deaths from cancer by raising funding for and conducting research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
