The team from the Specsavers hearing centres in Cheltenham and Cheltenham North West spent a lovely afternoon with a group called Playtime for Older People Project, or POPPs, at Springbank Community Centre.
Audiology director, Amanda Ellis gave the group a hearing care talk as well as giving each member the opportunity to have a hearing check, in which 16 people took her up on. Tea and cake were then served and both Amanda and PR coordinator, Emily Ashman stayed on to play a few games of bingo.
A good time had by all
‘We had a really wonderful afternoon with POPPs,’ said Amanda. ‘It’s such a great initiative that gives older people the chance to socialise and spend time with others, which can be so valuable. They were all very interested in what we had to say and we gave each of them a goody bag as we left.’
