10 qualifications for 10 years
Specsavers in Dorchester has welcomed its tenth optical professional to the store, in conjunction with the store’s ten-year anniversary.
First cohort of optometry students
Christopher Quinton is Specsavers in Dorchester’s newest optometrist, after completing a degree in the newly opened School of Optometry at Plymouth University in the first cohort of optometry students.
He first started working at Specsavers in Dorchester just on Saturday shifts, after which he worked full-time for the company whilst studying for three years to become a dispensing optician. He then studied his optometry degree at Plymouth University and continued to work through the holiday periods.
Achieving his goal
Christopher says: ‘Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to be an optician – I wanted to help people see well, it’s as simple as that.
‘Specsavers is a great company to work for. The team has supported me and helped me achieve my goal of becoming an optometrist.’
Sue Jobling, optometric director at Specsavers in Dorchester says: ‘We are so proud of Chris. Academically, he’s done so well in getting a first in his degree and we’re continuing to get brilliant feedback from his patients. I really couldn’t ask for more.’
