Cannock Specsavers has raised a glass to a very special customer as she marked a spec-tacular milestone.
Mrs Winifred Archer, who has been a regular customer at Specsavers for almost three decades, celebrated her 100th birthday in November. Alongside her telegram from the Queen, the centenarian also received a floral arrangement from the opticians.
‘Mrs Archer has been visiting our store since we first opened our doors in the late 1980s, so we wanted to give her a gift to mark this wonderful occasion,’ said Martin Shaw, store director. ‘It was lovely to visit her recently to drop off some flowers; it’s thanks to loyal customers like Winifred that our store has remained such a success over the years.’
As well as celebrating Mrs Archer’s 100th birthday, Martin, who opened Cannock Specsavers in 1988, also announced his retirement this month.
‘I’ve had a wonderful 27 years leading the team here in Cannock but I’m now looking forward to tackling some new challenges,’ said Martin. ‘In that time we’ve grown to become one of the top performing stores in the region, received multiple awards and even played an integral part in developing our famous 2 for 1 offer.
‘Most importantly though, we’ve been committed to providing our customers with an excellent service, something which I’m sure the team here will continue to do.’
