Tavistock opticians raise money for Jeremiah's Journey
Bereaved children will benefit from the fund raising efforts of staff in Tavistock, who are holding a day of competitions in aid of a charity that helps children of all ages explore the journey through grief.
Local residents are invited to visit the store in Tavistock on Saturday 13 August to support the Plymouth-based Jeremiah’s Journey charity by entering a ‘name the teddy’ competition and suggesting names for a fluffy bear to be in with a chance of taking him home.
There will also be a raffle and lucky dip. All of the raffle prizes, including a food hamper and handmade cards, have been donated by local businesses.
Make a difference
Sarah Routly, store director, said: ‘We’re always on the lookout for ways to give back to the community by supporting local charities that will help our customers. Jeremiah’s Journey has touched the life of a member of staff in the past so we know what a difference their work makes.’
Raffle tickets are available for purchase in store now. Winners of the raffle prizes and teddy will be announced and contacted on Monday 15 August.
