Staff in the Talbot Green Specsavers store donned their funniest hats and raised £73 for Brain Tumour Research , by taking part in its Wear a Hat Day campaign.

Great day’s fun

Store director, Hannah Davies, says: ‘We would like to say thank you to the local community who donated. The staff had a really fun time wearing their funny hats to work, and the fact that they were doing it for such an excellent charity made it all the more worthwhile.

‘We chose this charity as brain tumours are something that can devastating impact on our lives while people may not be aware that a simple eye test can detect the signs of a tumour. Charities such as Brain Tumour Research rely heavily on donations made by the public, no matter how large or small, and we wanted to do something that would perhaps have a bit of an impact. That was why we have decided to get on board with the Wear a Hat Day initiative and we hope that our donation can go some way to helping the cause.’
