Staff at the Specsavers store located in Talbot Green Shopping Centre, are undertaking a month-long fundraising initiative in aid of children’s charity Tŷ Hafan.

The store has joined together with a number of local businesses in the area to provide prizes for a Specsavers in-store raffle, in a bid to raise at least £200 for the charity. Tickets for the raffle will be on sale until 5pm Saturday 5 July.

Prizes on offer

Some of the items currently up for grabs include a £45 facial treatment gift voucher from Bliss Beauty by Cerys, a free cut and blow dry from Shaltons, a unisex watch from Little Vintage Shop, a personal training voucher donated by K2 Gym in Bridgend and the Specsavers store themselves will be providing a voucher for a pair of single vision designer glasses, with either clear or sunglass lenses, with a value of up to £125.

Fundraising target

Hannah Davies, store director at the Talbot Green store, says: ‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the local businesses who have very kindly provided excellent prizes for our store raffle. Tickets only cost £1 and can be purchased from any member of staff between now and 5 July. We have set ourselves a fundraising target of £200 and we are hoping to smash that.’

There will also be a face painter in store on Saturday 5 July, and the raffle will be held shortly after 5:00pm, with all winners being notified on 6 July 2014. Additionally the store will also be selling home-made sweet treats on the same day, at a charge of 50 pence each. All proceeds will go directly to the Tŷ Hafan charity.
