Staff at Specsavers, Sutton-in-Ashfield have been busy raising funds for the Guide Dogs charity, collecting more than £60 in a week.
The team welcomed guide dogs in store on Wednesday 13 February and hosted a charity dog walk on Sunday 17 February. Opticians were joined in store by guide dog owner, Kay Yallup, with working guide dog, Fudge, and retired dog, Frankie. Ten members of staff joined in with the muddy country walk at the weekend.
During the week the store took donations from customers and members of the community for the Guide Dogs charity, which breeds and trains assistance dogs.
A word from the store director
‘The Guide Dogs charity plays an enormous part in enhancing the quality of life for people who are blind or partially sighted,’ says Sutton Specsavers store director, Nigel Davidson. ‘It’s a great cause and the dogs are lovely company when they come in to visit. We all get a bit soppy over them.’
