Swollen discs found during a routine eye test
We were delighted to receive this thank you note from a happy customer that visited Cwmbran:
I just called in today to have a contact lens check. Thought I’d drop these biscuits off for you and the team. Richard Ward tested my eyes back in November 2012 and referred me to RGH emergency eye clinic.
I was a bit shocked to find out I had swollen discs at a routine eye test, but the time and care that I received that day really helped. After seeing a neurologist at RGH in December, I was diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension, IIH. I am waiting for a lumbar puncture, MRI scan and then hope to start diamox treatment to reduce the pressure.
It’s been a difficult six months for me, but I’m getting there.
Thank you so much
