Members of staff from Specsavers in Swindon wore hats to mark Wear A Hat Day (Thursday 29 March) and raised £70 for Brain Tumour Research.
Store director, Paul Ewah, said: ‘We were delighted to join in the nationwide fundraising effort by wearing hats to raise awareness and funds for Brain Tumour Research, enabling the charity to continue with its invaluable research.’
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
‘Underlying conditions can be picked up during eye tests, including brain tumours,’ continued Paul. ‘This is why we recommend everyone has an eye test once every two years.’
