Specsavers in Swindon hosted a fundraising day on Friday 27 April and raised more than £130 for Sunny Days Children’s Fund.
The team ditched their uniforms for the day and offered sweet treats to customers and passers-by, in return for charitable donations.
Support a worthy charity
‘We’re always keen to get involved with fundraising so we were delighted when Sunny Days approached us,’ said store director, David Grieves. ‘We understand the difficulties children and their families face when living with serious medical conditions, so supporting this charity is something we have all bought into.
‘We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated; thanks to the generosity of our lovely community here in Swindon, we raised £137.’
Sunny Days Children's Fund is a national charity which raises funds to support children under the age of 18 with a wide range of adverse medical conditions including leukaemia, cerebral palsy, deafness, blindness, terminal illnesses and all other life hindering conditions.
