Gloucester Specsavers has raised more than £700 by selling sweet treats in a bid to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team from the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Gloucester hosted a cake sale for the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, with the £750 proceeds going to the charity.

A word from the store director

‘We are blown away with the amount we were able to raise for Macmillan Cancer Support,’ said store director, Paul Chessel. ‘All the prizes in the tombola were donated by local businesses and our staff members, so we are thrilled that it was such a success. We want to thank everyone who popped into the store, you have all contributed to a great cause and we are delighted to be able to hand over the money to such an important charity in the UK!’

The store invited customers and passers-by to try their luck in a tombola, with thirty prizes up for grabs. Specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) were also available in return for donations.
