Collecting goods for Welsh children’s hospice
Specsavers in Swansea has been inundated with donations after appealing for help with a collection for South Wales children’s hospice Tŷ Hafan.
Donation to Tŷ Hafan’s retail store
Staff at the store on The Kingsway filled six refuse bags with children’s toys, games, clothes and shoes brought to the store by customers, in a drive that could see around £180 of sales generated for the hospice’s work. According to Tŷ Hafan, every bag of donated items to its retail stores is worth approximately £30.
‘It’s not difficult to see why Tŷ Hafan attracts the generosity of so many people – the work it does to care for life-limited children and young people, and their families, is nothing short of incredible,’ said Tracy Hill, store manager.
Tŷ Hafan – a ‘unique and wonderful charity’
‘But I was overwhelmed by the level of generosity that we saw from staff with this drive. Tŷ Hafan is a unique and wonderful charity that provides vital support for families in unimaginable circumstances, at the hospice and in the community, and we are honoured to be able to contribute in some way to supporting that.’
The Swansea store, along with 36 other Specsavers stores in South and Mid Wales, has been fundraising for Tŷ Hafan since September last year.
