A complete renovation is set to bring the largest Specsavers’s store in the UK and the latest in optical technology to customers in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Revolutionary clinical consultation area
The new space, begun in March at the Idlewells Shopping Centre, will expand the store’s revolutionary clinical consultation area and also create a new dedicated room for DVLA testing. A further 5 consulting rooms are being created including dedicated rooms for hearing consultations.
A significant investment is also being made in optical equipment including a new digital camera which will deliver images directly to ipads for ease of viewing. A new ‘customer lounge’ complete with large television and ipads for customer use will improve the customer experience.
Extended eyecare services
The practice currently provides extended eyecare services on behalf of the NHS, helping to provide faster more easily accessible primary care for patients, whilst reducing the burden on GP's and hospitals.
Areas covered include diabetic retinopathy screening, further investigation into patients having elevated Intraocular pressures as well as referrals for cataract surgery. In addition the practice is able to offer ‘Health Checks’ for those patients visiting who require further investigation into specific eye problems.
Large training academy
The re-brand will also involve expanding the store to relocate the non-retail areas of the business into the newly created basement level which will contain the optical laboratory, call centre, as well as a large training academy.
