Sutton-in-Ashfield Specsavers store was crowned the Multiple Practice of the Year at the Optician Awards.
Judges praised the team for their faultless clinical service and unbeatable team work.
Senior department manager Carly Wright, who attended the awards at the Birmingham NEC Hilton with three fellow team members, said: ‘We were so excited when they made the announcement it was like a blur. We were so thrilled.
‘We have the trophy on display in our staff room so everyone can enjoy it, then it will take pride of place in our trophy cabinet. The atmosphere in the store is amazing. We all feel so proud and happy for each other.’
The award was handed to store director Nigel Davidson by comedian Hugh Dennis. Nigel said: ‘It is such a brilliant reward for a great team effort and for the whole Specsavers group.
‘We are a tight-knit bunch at Sutton-in-Ashfield. We all help each other out all the time, and it is pleasing when that attitude is recognised.
Aims to please customers
‘We don’t set out to win awards. Our aim at all times is to do things to please our customers. Last year that included some major investment in clinical equipment, down to small improvements in the waiting area to make it more comfortable and appealing.
‘Awards are just a by-product of those efforts, and it was a real thrill to collect this one.’
Specsavers’ Hartlepool and Sevenoaks stores were short-listed for the award. Sutton-in-Ashfield also featured in the nominations for Optical Assistant Team of the Year and Technology Practice of the Year.
