Specsavers is gearing up for its first year as the proud title sponsor of the Surrey Youth Games.
Five year partnership
Stores across the Surrey region are joining forces with Active Surrey to celebrate and promote youth sports programmes across its 25 store locations.
The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games 2017 is the largest youth multi-sports competition in Surrey, spread over the weekend of 17-18 June 2017, in which 11 districts and boroughs in Surrey enter teams into a variety of indoor and outdoor sports. There are sports for all ages from 7-16, including events for young people with disabilities.
Promoting good health
Young people - many of whom have never tried the various sports on offer - will have the opportunity to attend free local coaching sessions prior to the Games. For many of the players selected to take part in the Games weekend at the Surrey Sports Park, this will be their first experience of a countywide competition
Why Specsavers is taking part
The UK’s leading opticians and audiologists prides itself on caring for children’s eye and hearing health. By partnering with a like-minded organisation that has ‘health’ at the heart of everything it does is a perfect brand fit and Specsavers is delighted to be part of its good work. Specsavers Camberley store director Lateef Iqbal, who initiated the partnership, says: ‘Many Specsavers customers and employees have been involved in the Surrey Youth Games over the years, either as participants or as a parents cheering on their children, so it is an honour for us to formalise a relationship with the Games.’
‘This partnership is a fantastic way for our business to express this very important message.’
