Surrey directors run for charity
On 12 March 2017, two Specsavers' directors from Surrey came together to race for a charity close to their hearts.
Surrey Half Marathon
Lateef Iqbal, director at Camberley, Alton and Farnham and colleague Helen Belkhodja, director at Staines, Egham and Feltham donned their trainers for the gruelling 5km race for Blind Veterans UK.
Supporting a great cause!
As it sounds, Blind Veterans UK is a charity that supports individuals who have served in the Armed Forces and are now living with significant sight loss. The organisation helps blind ex-Service men and women lead independent and fulfilling lives by supporting them with in-depth expertise, experience and full range of services. The charity also gives veterans much-needed support to adjust to sight loss, overcome the challenges of blindness and enjoy daily life.
Going one step further
Not fazed by their 5km, both Lateef and Helen are limbering up ready for the London Marathon in April. We wish them lots of luck and admire their dedication!
