Supernova run set to raise vital funds
Two optical assistants are currently in training and planning what to wear when they take on a physical challenge in aid of the Royal Blind charity.
Megan Gartshore and Carol McCallum from Specsavers Glenrothes are taking part in the night time ‘Supernova 5k’ run at Helix Park, Falkirk in November and hope to raise awareness and vital funds for the eyecare charity.
‘Royal Blind is a fantastic charity which supports people at home, school and in the work place,’ said Megan. ‘As Carol and I work with visually impaired people every day we are keen to show our support for this great cause.
‘We have set a fundraising target of £600 and hope that friends, family and the local community will really get behind us.
‘Every donation makes us all the more determined and motivated to train hard -we’d like to thank everyone who digs deep and shows their support’.
All participants are encouraged to dress in brightly coloured clothes and are provided with a LED head torch for the evening fun run making the 5k route, passing the Kelpies, the largest equine sculptures in the world.
Supernova takes place at Helix Park on Sunday 13 November 2016 from 5pm.
