Ashington eyecare experts are offering residents their top tips for selecting sunglasses this summer.
The team of experts from Specsavers in the town are encouraging specs wearers and non specs wearers alike to protect their eyes from harmful UV rays at home and abroad this summer by investing in a good pair of sunglasses, and are offering advice on how to be a savvy shopper.
A word of advice from the store director
Suneil Raj, store director at Specsavers Ashington, said: ‘We recommend when shopping for sunglasses you select those which bear the CE kite mark and offer 99-100 per cent UV protection - indicated on the labelling with the mark UV 400.
It’s important you protect your eyes from harmful UV rays which can cause irritation and in extreme cases lead to serious conditions such as cancer of the cornea and cataracts.
Just pop into store and we can help you select from our growing range of prescription and non-prescription sunglasses.’
