Kirkcaldy’s annual summer carnival day attracted hundreds of visitors and locals to the town, with a host of performances and activities to entertain the crowds.
Specsavers Kirkcaldy got into the carnival spirit by embracing the summer theme and supporting Alzheimers Scotland. Staff at the High Street opticians embraced the summer theme by decorating their store and wearing colourful Hawaiian shirts.
Supporting community events
‘As a local business it’s important to show our support for community events and it was great to combine this with a fundraiser for a worthy cause,’ said store director Kathryn Thompson.
The store team hosted a tombola and bake sale of tasty treats with all proceeds going to Alzheimer Scotland. With support from generous locals, they raised £80 for the charity and plan to host another fundraiser later in the year to add to this total.
‘Alzheimer Scotland is a charity which assists so many families in Fife and we are proud to show our support,’ adds Kathryn.
‘We look forward to hosting more fundraisers in the future and hope with the help of the local community we can build on our already impressive total.’
