A local opticians has been collecting food and drink throughout December in aid of a local foodbank.

Specsavers in Long Eaton has also raised a total of £157.62 to help support the cause.

Store manager, Marie Groves, said 'Our customers have been incredibly generous, some bringing in bags full of donations. We're delighted the collection was a success as it's a brilliant cause.'

The money was raised through an in-store raffle and tombola that took place at the switch on of the Long Eaton Chistmas lights.
