Stirling opticians raise cash for hospice
Big-hearted staff members from Specsavers in Stirling raised more than £1000 for Stirlingshire’s Strathcarron Hospice.
Five members of staff took part in the Strathcarron Hospice Midnight Sparkle Walk, raising £1098.14 for the hospice.
As an official charity partner of Strathcarron, Specsavers in Stirling has committed to proactively raising funds for the charity, and store director, Susanne Akil, is overwhelmed at the support.
A word from the store director
She said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to raise over £1000 for the hospice that is so close to many of our hearts. Strathcarron provides vital support for so many throughout the community and the Midnight Walk is always a key event in store’s diary. We would like to thank all the staff, customers and people of Stirling who so generously supported us.’
More about the partnership
The store has committed to hosting quarterly fundraisers throughout 2015 to raise vital funds for the charity, while raising awareness of the work the hospice carries out.
This includes special palliative care services, as well as home visits across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
The hospice is only part-funded by the NHS and needs to raise over £75,000 every week to continue giving the free care relied upon by so many in the community.
