State-of-the-art investment for Bristol City Centre opticians
The team at Specsavers in Bristol City Centre has recently invested £100,000 in state-of-the-art optical equipment to enhance its in-store lab service.
Thanks to a new automated glazing machine, the store will now be able to offer a much faster turn-around time for many of its prescription glasses.
Store director, Mark Walker, commented: ‘This glazing machine is a great tool and allows us to streamline the process of making prescription glasses for our customers. We are committed to improving the efficiency of our service when and where we can.’
Once a customer has chosen their frames, the lenses will be made up in the in-store lab. Lab technicians use the new glazing machine to cut lenses to the precise shape to fit chosen frames.
The Specsavers store is the first opticians in the Bristol area to invest in this kind of robotic handling unit.
Mark added: ‘We’ve had some fantastic feedback so far from customers, so we’re very pleased with this investment.’
