Specsavers Victoria joined up with Johnson and Johnson on Friday 28th February for a co-branded launch event at Cardinal Place, Victoria to promote the latest ACUVUE® OASYS with TransitionsTM contact lenses. Part of a UK Roadshow, the Victoria event was one of the key sites chosen in London for the launch.

Contact lenses adapt to variable light conditions

These first of a kind contact lenses designed in conjunction with TransitionsTM Light Intelligent Technology delivers exceptional visual performance, you can see and feel*1.  The revolutionary technology of the lens seamlessly adapts to the variable light conditions experienced by people during the day, so reducing the stressful impact that light can have on your eyes. In turn, this lens combines the proven comfort and visual performance of ACUVUE® with seamless adaptation to light, day to night, indoors and outdoors, so providing all-day soothing vision1,2,3.

In-built UV protection

ACUVUE® OASYS with Transitions™ provides the highest level of UV protection in a contact lens in the market2,4. However it is recommended that sunglasses are worn, especially where the light conditions are highly reflective, such as on water and snow and generally in bright sunlight to provide additional eye protection.

Co-branded Specsavers and ACUVUE® Brand Ambassadors spent time talking to local shoppers during the launch event, informing them about this latest technology and these first of a kind contact lenses. Integral to the stand, situated near the Specsavers Victoria store, was an interactive screen experience for passers-by to gain some first-hand insight into the technology behind these contact lenses.

In-store Specsavers contact lens advisers

On the day, a number of people met with the in-store contact lens advisers to assess their requirements and suitability for contact lenses. Specsavers ophthalmic director, Onkar Singh Khambay said; ‘The new ACUVUE® OASYS with TransitionsTM contact lenses offer our customers a high degree of flexibility. Their light reacting capability is also a really valuable feature, as many people are sensitive to bright light conditions.’

Mr Khambay went on to say… ‘It is such a useful opportunity to have ACUVUE® on site at the shopping mall, so that passers-by and customers can experience the interactive screen and gain an insight into the technology for themselves. We have in-store contact lens advisers who can assist new wearers and guide them with regard to the best contact lenses for them to wear.’
