Taking care of Ayrshire’s hearing

The opening in Specsavers follows a significant investment in the latest technology, with a state-of-the-art refurbishment and the store gaining an extra test room. It brings with it years of experience in taking care of the nation’s hearing to more people in Ayrshire than ever before.

Store director Linda Fulton said: ‘Our team has been part of the local community for many years so it’s incredibly exciting to expand our offering to take care of the locals’ eyes and ears.

‘We’ve made a further investment in the store to offer more people across Ayrshire a quality, convenient and thorough hearing assessment, hearing aid and aftercare service. We are also delighted to welcome our new clinical audiologist, Thomas Allison, to the business.’

Welcoming Thomas

As well as conducting appointments from the Specsavers hearing centre on Ayr’s High Street, Thomas will provide a hearing service in neighbouring Specsavers stores.

Thomas joined Specsavers from Interacoustics UK, an audiological testing equipment manufacturer and distributor, where he was a technical support audiologist. Before this he worked as an audiologist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

He also has a background in sound engineering and spent six years setting up live sound reinforcement systems for bands and artists at venues across Europe.

Thomas said: ‘I am thrilled to join Specsavers and the Ayr store looks forward to offering its experience and innovative digital hearing aids to a wider audience than ever before.

‘Anyone looking for advice on hearing problems or a free hearing assessment is welcome to pop in.’
