Starry store opening celebrations
Star Wars characters and a Cool FM roadshow were part of an exciting celebration party to mark the official opening of Specsavers new store in Conway Square.
The practice has been providing eye care to the local community for 16 years and has relocated to new state-of-the-art two story premises housing a new lab and testing equipment with new testing rooms. The larger space also enables the store to provide enhanced audiology services.
Fun-packed party and charity cash raised
Hundreds of local people enjoyed a fun packed Saturday morning party with music, family entertainers, Cool FM street teams, giveaways and competitions. Store staff also raised charity funds for Chris, a local student with cerebral palsy to help him buy a specialised sports wheelchair to play football whilst studying at university in Scotland.
Special guest, Gary Hanna from Newtownards Chamber of Trade alongside Jim Shannon MP, cut the ribbon to officially declare the new store open.
Leigh Nelson, store director said, ‘Everyone had a brilliant day and we were thrilled to welcome so many of our patients and many other local people to our launch party to help us celebrate. The whole team is delighted with our new store and we look forward to looking after both the eye health and hearing of people living in Newtownards and the surrounding region.’
