Aspiring bakers from Specsavers in Wolverhampton have raised £191 after serving home-made cakes and beverages as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
On Friday 26 September, staff from Specsavers in The Wulfrun Centre invited visitors to join them in raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Customers were able to sample home-baked treats, in return for a donation to the charity.
Andrew Stubbs, store director at Specsavers in Wolverhampton, said: ‘We wanted to join the thousands of people around the UK who all raise funds to help improve the lives of those living with cancer. A few members of the team are keen bakers, so this was a good opportunity for them to showcase their skills and raise money for a great cause.’
Macmillan works to improve the lives of those affected by cancer, and the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is the charity’s largest fundraising event.
