A member of staff at Cardigan’s Specsavers store has been praised by his colleagues for his excellent customer service skills when helping a distressed member of the public.
James Jones, lab technician at Specsavers Cardigan, helped the customer by initially talking to her on the phone following an incident when her hairdresser spilt hair dye into her eye.
Reassured the customer
Mr Jones reassured the customer and advised her to visit the nearby Specsavers store so that the optical team could assess any damage that may have been caused.
At the store, he flushed her eye with saline solution and arranged a follow up eye examination with an optometrist at Specsavers in Cardigan for later that day.
Mr Jones also gave the customer a spare pair of contact lenses and said that she could contact him should she require further help.
Store director, Heledd Hallett, said: ‘We’re extremely proud to have someone as dedicated as James in our store and his quick thinking enabled our customer to get the help she needed. Specsavers prides itself on providing excellent customer service, and the attention and care that James gave was fantastic given how distressed our customer actually was.
It can a be frightening and painful experience when you have something unexpected in your eye; we were glad that we could not only reassure our customer but also make sure that there were no eye health concerns relating to the incident before she left the store.’
