The Banbridge Specsavers team took on a very special challenge for 2017 – to raise funds for both Craigavon and Daisy Hill hospitals’ neo-natal and special care baby units.
In May and June staff take part in the Bann 10K and Fun Run on Wednesday 24 May and the Gran Fondo Cycle on Sunday 4th June to help boost the store’s fundraising campaign.
Store director a keen cyclist
Store director and local Banbridge man Wayne Watson who is a keen cyclist, undertakes the 58 km Gran Fondo route in County Down. Wayne is also joining other staff members to walk the Bann 10K/Fun Run event which kicks off at Havelock Park.
Tribute to Daisy Hill and Craigavon hospitals
The Specsavers store chose Daisy Hill and Craigavon baby units as owner and optician Wayne Watson and wife Lynn, both from Banbridge, had experienced wonderful care and support at both hospital units when their twins Micah and Isla – now 18 months old - were born prematurely at 31weeks.
