St Austell specs wearers invited to celebrate 30th birthday
Staff at the store are celebrating 30 years of loyal local service by giving away a pair of designer glasses to one lucky customer*.
Spectacular prize draw
The team will be marking the milestone anniversary by having a prize draw for the specs. We will be wearing their favourite fancy dress costumes and handing out free cupcakes to those that visit the store for the birthday celebrations on Saturday 13 August.
Eric Barkhuysen, store director, said: ‘Our 30th anniversary has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to give back and say thank you to all of our loyal customers!’
30 years of service
The store opened its doors for the first time in August 1986. It was the eleventh Specsavers store to launch and is, therefore, one of the longest established branches.
Eric added: ‘Now in our 30th year, we have 28 staff members with more than 300 years of combined optical experience! Most of our current team joined for work experience and have stayed on to train whilst working part-time at the store.’
To enter the 30th anniversary prize draw, residents are encouraged to visit the store and fill out an entry form by 5:30pm on Saturday 13 August. Winners of the designer glasses will be announced the following week.
*The prize draw is for one pair of any designer glasses up to £149 with single vision lenses. The winner will be able pay for further upgrades to their glasses. Entry to the competition is free. The competition is open to everyone but limited to one entry per person.
