Sport Relief city ramble
A team of opticians from Hounslow completed an 11-mile hike across the London cityscape on Sunday 23 March in aid of Sport Relief.
Over £1,700 raised
Nine members of staff from Specsavers in Hounslow, raised an impressive £1,721 in sponsorship for their 17km journey, walking from Specsavers’ flagship store on Tottenham Court Road back to their own store in Hounslow. The team passed through the boroughs of Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham while decked head-to-toe in Sport Relief attire.
Thank you to customers
Ranna Rai, store director in Hounslow, says: ‘We wanted to find a fun, challenging way to raise money for Sport Relief and the walk definitely provided that. The route across London isn’t the easiest journey; it may not be treacherous mountains and hills but the busy pathways and roads were certainly a challenge to the team.
‘We beat our target of £1,000 thanks to the very kind donations of our customers.’
