Surrey Quays eye care experts called upon all residents to donate their used and unwanted specs in store. The team collected the specs in aid of international sight charity Vision Aid Overseas, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015.
Taj Dhiman, store director said: ‘We’re overwhelmed by the response from the community. It’s wonderful that the sale of the reusable materials from these glasses will now go towards helping support those less fortunate.’
Vision Aid Overseas works in six African nations to establish vision centres, train healthcare workers and utilise the expertise of volunteers to give people desperately-needed eye examinations and treatment.
