Local Scouts, Cubs and Beavers have thanked staff at Specsavers in Yate for their donation of high-visibility jackets during Road Safety Week.

In a letter to the store, Brownies leader Sarah Cocker, said: ‘I am writing to thank you for your fantastic donation of 30 hi-vis jackets for Kingswood Brownies.

‘The girls are all very excited to wear them on walks in the dark – they are hoping we might go past a shop so we can get sweets!’

Jane Morgan, store director, said: ‘We’re so pleased to hear the children are using their new hi-vis jackets to stay safe when they’re out and about.

This year Specsavers co-sponsored Road Safety Week (17-23 November). The initiative from Brake aims to reduce deaths and injuries on our roads.
