Staff make a muddy spectacle in the fight against cancer
A group of four determined ladies from a local opticians are preparing to get grimy all in the name of charity.
Specsavers Wishaw employees Karen McGuire, Leeanne Montgomery, Margaret Paterson and Lynsey Welsh are taking on this year’s Race for Life Pretty Muddy at Bellahouston Park on 20 June. The ladies will also be joined by Samia Qureshi from Specavers in Motherwell.
The caring quintet – team name ‘What A Spectacle’ – are limbering up for the 5k obstacle course having already raised more than £130 for Cancer Research UK.
Karen said: ‘We try to do something different for charity every year and wanted to take on Pretty Muddy as it’s something a bit different. We’re all looking forward to conquering the obstacles and doing our bit in the fight against cancer.’
Specsavers Wishaw store director Jonathan Dry said: ‘We’re all very proud of the girls and we’re sure that they’ll all do really well on the day.’
