Specsavers Watford has just announced a two-year partnership with local youth mental health charity Signpost.
What is Signpost?
The charity provides ‘counselling, coaching and other support to help young people living in South and West Hertfordshire overcome problems in their lives’.
How will the store be supporting Signpost?
From May onwards, the store will be donating 25p per sight test completed to Signpost – an amount which store director Aftab Sham hopes will equal £500 a month in funding.
Bake sale for Signpost
To announce the partnership, the team hosted a bake sale in store over the weekend and invited Chairman of the Watford Borough Council, Councillor Rabi Martins, to attend.
‘Signpost is close to Rabi’s heart as he has also chosen it as the charity he’ll support throughout his term, so it made sense for us to invite him,' says Specsavers Watford store director Aftab Sham. ‘It’s also close to our hearts, as it’s very local to us – being only two doors down – and in a way, both Signpost and we have the same goal – to look after the health and wellbeing of Watford residents’.
A word from the store director
'If you've been due for an eye test, now is definitely the time to visit us', says Aftab.
'We want to test as many eyes as possible to raise as much as we can for Signpost to continue their fantastic work in the community. Keep an eye out for other fundraising events in the coming year as well!'
