Opticians and audiologists from Specsavers in Clacton-on-Sea attended the Local Authority’s annual Staff Benefit Event for the first time last week, offering support and discounts for council workers hearing and sight needs.
Helping over 700 council workers
The event, which took place at Clacton Town Hall on Thursday 7 June, saw over 700 civil servants through its doors, learning about the services in the local area and how they, along with local residents, can benefit from them.
Audiology director at Specsavers in Clacton-on-Sea Nasim Jalal was in attendance along with audiologist Holly Richards and dispensing optician director Lee Siang Holcombe.
A word from the audiology director
Nasim said: ‘The staff who work at our local council do a great job supporting the community, so we are really happy to have the opportunity to give something back. Aside from giving out information to the attendees about vision, hearing and contact lens services, we are offering them discounts on their glasses and hearing aids.
‘It was great to meet the people who keep our town working and we are hoping to see some them in the store soon.’
Benefits and discounts to say thanks
Participants in the event were able to ask questions about both audiology and optical services available at their local Specsavers, as well as having a video otoscope, allowing them to see inside their eardrum.
