Customers at Specsavers Slough were recently joined by some of their favourite book characters, as the team swapped their uniforms for some colourful costumes in support of World Book Day.

Minnie Mouse, the Cookie Monster and Where’s Wally were all on hand on the shop floor to serve customers throughout the day.

World Book Day

World Book Day celebrates authors, illustrators, books and reading and is on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own.

Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and marked in over 100 countries over the world, the team in Slough showed their support this year too.

Eye sight for reading

Bushra Nazir, Store Manager at Specsavers Slough, said: 'World Book Day is an important day for us all to remember for a number of reasons. Some of my greatest memories have come from reading my favourite books.

'Here at Specsavers, we’re encouraging everyone to join us in celebrating. After all, good sight goes hand in hand with reading books!'
