Specsavers is the first store in Ayrshire to receive an accreditation from Investors in People recognising its commitment to employee wellbeing.
The Irvine store was recently presented with its Health and Wellbeing Award.
The team have been working towards the accolade over the last year, encouraging staff to adopt a healthier lifestyle in the work place. This has involved an increase in staff training, motivational talks from guest speakers, including dieticians, and offering corporate gym memberships.
Jim Quinn, store director at Specsavers Irvine, says: ‘We are thrilled to be the first store in Ayrshire to receive this recognition from Investors in People. We want our staff to enjoy working at Specsavers and it’s our responsibility to ensure we are providing the best work environment possible.
‘The team have been very supportive of the improvements we have made and this award is a great way to cap off 2014.’
Specsavers Irvine was first accredited by Investors in People in 2003 and received its Gold award in December 2012.
