Specsavers recently donated a number of high-visibility vests to keep their local Brownie group safe when they are out and about.
The Specsavers store in Ripon visited Ripon Brownies after launching a campaign to increase the safety of local children by making it easier for motorists to spot them when their activities take them into the community, or when they’re out on school trips.
A word from the Director
Caroline Sullivan, store director at Specsavers in Ripon, comments: “At this time of year when the days are still quite short, combined with the unpredictable weather, it can be difficult to keep track of a group of children on the move.
“With this in mind, we wanted to help increase the safety of children in the area and we were thrilled that Ripon Brownies were happy to be a part of our safety campaign.”
As part of the initiative, Specsavers are also hoping to raise awareness of free glasses and eye tests that are available to under 16-year-olds. Regular eye tests are important for children as an undetected problem could lead to something more severe in the long term.
