Yardley put St Basil’s in the frame for support
The team at Specsavers Yardley are encouraging the local community to embrace the season of goodwill by helping to support a local young person’s accommodation project.
Staff at the store are appealing for people to donate new toiletries, non-perishable food and household items for St Basil’s Yardley accommodation project.
The charity works with young people aged 16-25 so they have a home, access to opportunities, and feel safe and secure.
A word from the store director
‘We were keen to give something back this Christmas and St Basil’s seemed like an obvious choice,’ said store director Dee Browning. ‘We are hoping the local community will support us with our collection; whether that’s donating a tin of baked beans, some shower gel or a set of cushions.
Hopefully people will either have something they don’t need, or will simply pop an extra item in their shopping basket next time they are out, to help support someone less fortunate this Christmas.’
Specsavers will be collecting items in store until Wednesday 22 December, when all donated items will be taken to the Yardley project.
