Wythenshawe celebrates success of former apprentice
Specsavers in Wythenshawe is celebrating as a member of the team is preparing to pass his qualifications in audiology.
Shaun Adams joined the Wythenshawe Specsavers team as an apprentice in November 2014, where he learned about the optical side of the business while on the job.
Since them, Shaun has passed a number of qualifications, receiving a Level 2 diploma in optical retail skills, and a Level 2 diploma in employment and professional learning skills in health in July 2017.
Determined to learn as much as he can about all aspects of the company, Shaun enrolled in a course to obtain a Level 4 BTEC in hearcare clinical assistance, and hopes to eventually complete a degree in audiology as well.
Speaking of his progression within the company, Shaun said: 'I’m really proud of the work that I’ve been able to accomplish since beginning my time with Specsavers.
'The entire team has been really supportive, helping me out with any questions I might have, and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can about the business.'
Store director Amanda Pedder said: 'Seeing Shaun progress as quickly as he has since joining the Wythenshawe team in 2014 has been a real source of pride for every one of us.
Not only has he fully immersed himself in both the optical and audiology aspects of what we do in Specsavers, he’s an enthusiastic and irreplaceable member of the team, and I have no doubt that he’ll continue to achieve great things with Specsavers.'
