Woking proud of town's success
Specsavers in Woking was delighted to see its town retain its title as overall winners at this year's Surrey Youth Games.
Woking, together with its neighbouring stores across Surrey, enjoyed the Olympic style event that played host to over 2000 young people in 286 teams.
The super hot weekend of 17-18 June didn't impact sporting ability from the ambitious indivuals. 16 competed sports were bravely fought out at Surrey Research Park and Woking performed as well as it did last year, taking home the overall Borough Trophy.
There to watch the success
Specsavers store director, Andreas Nearcou was there on the Saturday to watch teams and also attend the Welcome Reception. He says: 'It was a truly inspirational event that myself, and other Specsavers colleagues, felt honoured to be part of and attend. Great fun was had by all and what a delight to see Woking do so well.
'Congratulations to everyone who took part over the weekend. See you all again next year!'
