Winchester revs up for charity cycle ride
Specsavers Winchester store director Krupesh Barchha is gearing up to take on the gruelling London to Brighton Bike Ride in a bid to raise £500 for the British Heart Foundation.
The self-confessed cycle fanatic is due to tackle the 54-mile route on 18 June, starting in Clapham Common and travelling through the Surrey and Sussex countryside before finishing in Brighton.
The Specsavers Winchester store is organising a number of fundraising activities to support Krupesh on his journey, with all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation.
The business hosted a bake sale on 10 June and is holding a competition asking customers to donate £1 to guess the amount of sweets in a jar, with the winner taking home the entire jar of sweets.
Visitors donating £2 will also have the chance to play a spin the wheel game to win a free sight test or optical accessory.
A word from the director
Krupesh says: ‘I love cycling and I thought this would be a great way to support such a worthy cause as the British Heart Foundation.
‘I’m looking forward to the challenge and we’re hoping to raise a large amount of money for the charity.'
Those looking to support Krupesh can also donate on his Just Giving page.
