Local children to be seen by drivers
The Wick opticians has donated 50 high visibility vests to pupils at Pennyland Primary School in Thurso.
Keeping youngsters safe
The donation was part of Specsavers’ pledge to help youngsters stay safe when out in busy streets and public areas.
Shaun Henderson, acting head teacher at Pennyland Primary School, said: ‘The high visibility vest donation from Specsavers will be very beneficial in helping our staff ensure pupils are safe and visible when they are out on school trips.
‘Our primary two and three pupils were very excited to receive the vests from Specsavers staff and are looking forward to having the opportunity to wear them.’
Supporting the community
Ian Morris, store director at Specsavers in Wick, said: ‘Helping local children be safe and be seen is an important focus for our store. We were delighted to donate the vests to Pennyland Primary School.
‘We continually look for ways to give back to the local community and supplying vests is a fantastic opportunity to support schools in the area and help spread the road safety message.’
