The team at Specsavers Wantage has raised more than £1,500 for the Caring Cancer Trust in memory of Maisie Norton, a 17-year-old Wantage resident who lost her fight against the disease in 2015.

Staff at the store designed a unique charity bracelet, which they sold in-store for £3, raising a total of £1,572.10 for the charity.

Fantastic effort to raise funds

Store director Nicky Rutter said: ‘We hoped to raise £1,000, so to beat our target is fantastic and a big thanks to everyone who supported us.

‘Maisie was the cousin of two of our opticial assistants, so it’s been good to be able to support the Caring Cancer Charity Trust as it was her chosen charity.’
