Call for young heroes in Walton on Thames

Specsavers in Walton on Thames is encouraging youngsters to share stories about their amazing achievements to be in with a chance to win a top award.

The store is looking for nominations for this year’s British Citizen Youth Award (BCYA), which highlights acts of kindness and compassion carried out by children to benefit charities, communities and society.

The initiative is being backed by Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins, an active supporter and patron of the BCYA.

Still time to enter

Those selected to receive an award will be invited to a special event being held at The Palace of Westminster, where Dame Mary Perkins will be on hand to present medals to individuals in recognition of their incredible achievements.

The British Citizen Youth Award is open to all children who will be under the age of 16 in October 2017. To apply, please email jacquif@britishcitizenawards.co.uk with BCYA in the subject line. The deadline for all entries is Wednesday 9 August 2017.
