The team from Specsavers in Cheltenham were delighted to have a pupil from Cleeve School join them for a week of work experience.

Elliott Dobson, aged 17, spent time in the High Street store and in the branch within Sainsbury's at Gallagher Retail Park.  Over the course of the week he was pleased to experience a range of activities whilst learning about optometry and hear care services.

'Thoroughly enjoyable'

‘I thoroughly enjoyed my week of work experience at Specsavers,’ said Elliott. ‘From sitting in on sight tests and contact lens fittings to seeing the equipment, I gained a wealth of experience in just one week.

‘The team made me feel very welcome and everyone was extremely supportive and helpful, so I would like to say a big thank you to the staff. I’m really glad I chose Specsavers for work experience.’

Helping youngsters consider career in optics

‘It was great to have Elliott on board for the week,’ said PR co-ordinator, Emily Ashman. ‘A lot of pupils in school may not consider going into optics, but we hope that teaching Elliott about optometry has broadened his career options.’
