This Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March) the Upminster store ‘Gave Us a Wave’ with their fundraising efforts by helping the local community accessorise their red nose with comedy waving hand glasses.

Coming in adult and children’s sizes and priced at just £2, the glasses were on sale throughout March with all money raised from sales being donated to Comic Relief.

Julie Haylett, store director said, ‘Specsavers Comic Relief activity gave the residents of Upminster a really easy way to make a big difference with this amazing cause. The communities fundraising efforts prove that small donations really do add up to astonishing amounts, and we are so grateful to the community to be able to help vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.’

The teams gallant effort helped to contribute to Specsavers overall total of £468,241 (and still counting) – bursting their £250,000 target!
