Specsavers in Sutton Coldfield is championing road safety in the local community by donating high visibility vests to a local school.

The team in the Red Rose Centre donated the vests to the students at Parkfield Community School, to help ensure the youngsters will be seen when out and about during the year.

'Huge thank you'

Winnie Quinn, Learning Resources Manager at Parkfield Community School, said: ‘We want to say a huge thank you for our high vis jackets from Specsavers. The children in Year 4 used them immediately for a trip to Birmingham Airport, and children who use the Walking Bus at school have also been using them in the dark mornings to help to keep them safe.’

A word from the store director

‘We are delighted that the vests have been put to good use already,’ said store director, Tim Goodhew. ‘We are committed to helping local children stay safer on the streets. Anything that helps educate young people about road safety or to make them more visible, especially to drivers, is invaluable.’
