Children from a nursery in Rotherhithe were given an education in optics recently when they visited the Specsavers team in Surrey Quays.

Workshop for Playshack

The store welcomed 15 students from Playshack Nursery, which cares for pre-school children up to the age of five. The children were taught about the importance of eyecare and given the opportunity to sample a number of pairs of specs from the designer glasses range.

With the recent spell of excellent weather, the children were also told about the importance of wearing sunglasses throughout the summer to help protect their eyes from UV rays.

Early learning

Tajinder Dhiman, store director at Specsavers Surrey Quays, said: ‘It was a pleasure to welcome in students from Playshack Nursery and provide an important lesson for all the youngsters that came in. The importance of eye health can never be overstated, so it’s highly beneficial for children to be educated from an early age to make sure that look after their eyes properly.’
